Biography

Chris first got into Motorsport at the age of 8 when his parents Paul and Foula booked an indoor Karting event for his birthday. Chris enjoyed this so much that his next two birthday parties were also karting events, first one, was indoor and the second one outdoor at South Wales Karting Centre in Llandow.

Chris was spotted at his 10th birthday party by a gentleman called Ken Denscombe. Ken had said that Chris had a great ability to drive and that he recognized that Chris had potential to become a great racer.

So aged 10, Chris owned his first kart, a Honda Cadet. Chris could now go practicing during the holidays under the watchful eye of Ken Denscombe.  When Chris reached the age of 11 his parents then bought him a Junior Pro Kart and Chris sat his MSA Ark’s test which he passed first time. This meant he was now able to race in MSA Races with the big boys.

At the end of Chris’s first Karting season (about 3 or 4 months), Chris was awarded a trophy for the Most Improved Honda Driver. When the season had finished, Chris’s determination did not stop there, he carried on practicing as often as he was allowed and in the holidays that was seven days a week.

Chris’s driving style had improved so much with his smooth lines and genuine race craft that he was then asked to become a young race instructor of the very successful Llandow Race Academy, of which has had many British Karting Champions.

Chris’s driving style had progressed from driving a Honda Cadet to a Junior Pro Kart, he then went onto the super fast 250cc twin cylinder four stroke Biland Kart and then onto his first two stroke class, the 100cc Junior TKM. Chris was then spotted by a couple of gentlemen who said he should move into cars. We were all very excited about this but unfortunately the gentlemen that had promised the finances to do this didn’t come forward with the funding so Chris was left in the lurch.
Chris, with his strong mind and with his great results from previous years, along with him becoming one of the UK’s  most successful Karting driver’s has kept a very positive attitude about being let down in 2007. Chris started to do a few karting events just to keep his mind racing active as well as taking his ARD’s test at the end of 2007 which he passed with top marks.

With a little bit of luck and good fortune Chris will be out racing in Saloon Car’s in 2008 in the Seat Cupra Cup Championship, which is the Championship that follows the British Touring Car Championship around some of the best circuits in the UK.
